One problem down! The fix for this is to go into /etc/mountd.conf and change mmcblk0 to mmcblk0p1. That way mountd doesn't (incorrectly) block the entire SD card out for doing USB sharing, but only the first partition. More information (still) to be had at the below thread to android-porting. (As mentioned there, I have also submitted this change up to Android's change review process.) -J

There is a second issue, which is that the /sdcard folder does not mount correctly while the second partition is mounted :(. This should be fixable, but I currently do not know where in the pipeline the problem actually lies.
