OpenSSH - Can't type the letter "d" as the last character of a password

Reported by: jmcphail Owned by: saurik
Priority: major Component: Telesphoreo
Keywords: keyboard, ssh, password, terminal Cc:

Description

It's impossible to cleanly type the letter "d" as the last character of a password when using ssh to connect to a remote host. Tested this by changing the password on remote host to have a different last character, and didn't have the problem. Changed it back to "d" and the problem returned.

The symptom is that no matter how precisely you target the "d" on the iPhone keyboard a nearby letter will highlight. If you press another letter, say "s", and then delete you can type the "d" correctly.

  • component changed from General to Bootstrap

Further testing reveals that I also can't type "d" as a character in a password when using "su".

I think this is actually meant to be a bug in MobileTerminal? on 2.x, one that has long been fixed (specifically that the autocorrect was locked to the on position on the keyboard).
